Trustee's Update - May 22, 2023

Cleaning of classrooms has continued on the second and third floors. Rooms that have minor smoke damage have been cleaned and the contents boxed and inventoried. We have thousands of boxes stored in designated rooms and storage containers.

Junior high classrooms on the second floor were deemed a total loss and the rooms have been stripped to the block walls in order to completely remove the smoke odor. The cabinets and stud walls have been removed, along with most of the contents deemed non-salvageable.

Gooch Electric has installed temporary lighting for the fire source rooms. This has allowed cleaning to continue in this space as remodel planning begins.

ARSI is abating asbestos in the 3rd floor church hall ahead of pulling these ceilings down. Once done here, they will move to the bell tower stairwell.

Unrelated to the fire restoration, a special thanks to All Seasons Landscaping for replacing the retaining wall by the playground to improve the entrance to our new church home in the gym.
